You see, we didn't *copy* it. We merely did an old American tradition: trolling via song parodies.

Had to learn this in music class in elementary school as a kid and sing it. Glad I did too. Been a proud Patriot my whole life. God bless America.

Interesting fact:
George Washington originally wanted the stars on the USA’s flag to be six pointed instead of the five pointed ones the it has today

My country tis of thee
Sweet land of liberty
Of thee I sing
Land where my fathers died
Land of the pilgrim's pride
From every mountain side
Let freedom ring
My native country, thee
Land of the noble free
Thy name I love
I love thy rocks and rills
Thy woods and templed hills
My heart with rapture fills
Like that above
Let music swell the breeze
And ring from all the trees
Sweet freedom's song
Let mortal tongues awake
Let all that breathe partake
Let rocks their silence break
The sound prolong
Our Father God to, Thee
Author of liberty
To Thee I sing
My country 'tis of Thee
Sweet land of liberty
For all eternity
Let freedom ring
Let freedom ring
My country 'tis, my country 'tis of Thee

Most people here don't know Germany too had this rhythm in the imperial Anthem of the Kaiserreich.
It was called "Heil dir im Siegerkranz" and During the Revolution against France "Heil dir Germania".

To me this feels way more patriotic than the Star Spangled Banner.

Every song tuned to "God Save the King" is good. The music is pleasant to the ear and easy to remember.
