The thing about 'consent' is that the woman whom you have had a relationship for years, and you've consensual sex but now due to some unforeseen reasons, you cannot continue the relationship, your woman can file a grape case on you under Sec 69 and congrats, you'd be in jail in no time.
Same with hookup culture, one night she is smiling with you, the very next day you wake up with a call from a SI that you've been charged with grape. It sounds very funny that now nearly any interaction with women seems like grape.

This sort of thing trivializes a brutal crime like rape.
If an adult has given consent, it should not be rape. If consent was obtained on false promise it can be fraud, cheating, any other crime but not rape.

These laws are very good. Dont get me wrong but at that time they really did protect women but nowadays it is used as a weapon to allege false case on ex boyfriends in name of revenge. Few years you have a relationship and then for some reason you breakup and all of a sudden you are charged with rape case. Somehow girls do this all the time they date one guy for sometime and then marry another for life security but they get no consequences.
That is why this law should either be gender neutral or should not be a law at all.
