It's time for another Real Life Budget. We asked my readers to submit their REAL information. Real spending, real debt, and real savings goals.

I am taking those real-life numbers and showing you how I would organize and budget that information using my Budget By Paycheck® Method.

In this video, I will be showing the real numbers from a reader, Sam. Sam and her husband live in Minnesota and have six kids. Sam currently cleans houses, and her husband is a probation officer. Although they have over $100,000 in debt, they are able to afford all of their bills and still put money towards their financial goals.

Something that helped our budget when it comes to the bunch of little things that add up is we set an allowance for ourselves for the week that we can spend on whatever. Puts a little freedom in the budget while still keeping it under wraps. It might feel shitty to say to your partner "heres your allowance this week" but it does help, I swear.

I never realized how much of a life saver it is to have a savings account. I recently recovered from a missed miscarriage so I had to stay home for awhile. I had 3300 in savings and was planning to use that for a down payment on a house and ended up on bed rest with no income and so fortunate to only use about 800 and have a fast recovery.

We're a blended family with 7 kids (all grown now). Idk HOW we managed everything, but we did have budgets in place and scheduled all activities. We budgeted for a family movie date at a matinee so it was cheaper.

We also have anywhere from 6-8 paychecks per month. It's alot to maintain, but it's fun too. I'm such a numbers geek!!!

This one actually seems like an appropriate one to add the Christmas sinking fund to. I say this because they put Tithe as a priority on their budget as a main bill. I'm usually a little against instantly adding a Christmas sinking fund since the amount of people not celebrating it seems to be growing, but when they make it clear in their personal story that they align with that ideology it's totally in order

Love the idea of starting a sinking fund (of any kind, since it puts in you the frame of mind to save) and also the simplification you provided here. With so much 'home life' that she'd rather be doing ☺️, combining things seems much more workable 💯
