GUMI V6 recently released! It’s been a while. I’ve been wanting to talk about GUMI for a while.

Yes, I had to remake some parts of the script again. I originally recorded on October 10th 2022 but 3 days later Vocaloid 6 came out so it took some time to fix everything. Apologies for the amazing upload schedule. Next one is Touhou (maybe), sorry Vocaloid fans.

you forgot to mention that before synth V came out, and all this ai stuff, gumi was the ONLY ONE who could actually speak english without needing subtitles

I’m also hopeful that with gumi getting some songs into project sekai she gets introduced to newer fans that way. I feel like vocaloid and other singing synths are definitely swinging back into popularity so it would be great to see it spreading to some old favorites.

As a person who owns 3 GUMI voicebanks, whose first Vocaloid song was Ten-Faced, whose favorite Vocaloid song of all time is Yowamushi Montblanc/Coward Montblanc, (2nd fav song of all time) and who's had GUMI as their favorite Vocaloid since the age of 11, I thank you for this.

Gumi my beloved, back when I was newly fascinated by vocaloid but Miku's voice hurt my ears, Gumi was there with her unique, softer voice and absolute bangers. Now I love all my precious vocasynth children but Gumi will always hold a special place in my heart.

1:24 The reason it’s “poid” instead of “loid” is because in Japanese, Megpoid is spelled like “メグッポイド” (meguppoido) and the “ッポイド” (ppoido) part is a pun on the words “ロイド” (roido/loid) and “っぽい” (ppoi) which means “similar to” or “-like”, making her name literally mean “Meg-like loid” behind the pun! Same thing for Gackpoid and Gachapoid.

I've never been BIG into Vocaloid but I've enjoyed the design of a few characters like Hatsune and the twins. I never knew about Gumi until the other day though. I noticed people mentioning her a lot and pinterest was kind enough to point me in the right direction. I'M OBSESSED!!! Her style is awesome! I'm on YT now to hear her music and get to know her more, so thanks for the information.

Gumi has the advantage of already having a good english voicebank on top of her japanese voicebank and with vocaloid 6 allowing users to implement both languages onto the same editor (which im sure will make it much easier for producers to implement English into japanese songs and vice versa). I have hope we’ll see her regain popularity through more songs in the future. Especially with games like project sekai featuring songs sung by her. I’m excited for her future

Funny coming here after Gumi had SynthV VB announced! Gumi is everywhere and I really love how eclectic she has proven to be, multiple voicebanks and softwares. I'll always have her above Miku in my personal ranking.

Kasane Teto just had both her 15th Anniversary happened AND finally received a real commercial voicebank on SynthV! Would love if you could explain the story behind Teto and how impactful she has become in the Vsynth scene especially Utau as she basically became the face of Utau!

I remember immediately becoming an oshi for her near realistic voice of her when I discovered her among Miku's popularity. I even owned all two Deco*27's Mozaik Role manga just because I really like Gumi both as a character and a voicebank.

GUMI's voice is incredibly versatile. I was so used to her in pop songs and loved her being used by Hachi and MachigeritaP when I was younger but I am really enjoying her in metal as I got older. Undeniably my favorite voicebank. Her GUMI AI hasn't really captured me because I truly enjoy her without the extra effects to her voice. I am sad she's not as popular but the Western audience love her and she's excellent with English songs.

I love Gumi so much!!! Granted I like her character a lot more than some of her songs but one of the things that made me fall in love with her is the amount of nostalgic music that she has like copycat, monster, machine gun and so on. Kira is still going strong with Gumi and has amazing tuning skills. Currently listening to "Focus" on repeat. I mean what are the odds that my favourite vocaloid and one of my favourite fictional characters (the herta) are somehow connected!
