I emigrated to Flanders after I married a man from here - I really hope the NVA & VB vote share goes down but given the number of WW2 flags on display not going to hold my breath. There are two flags of Flanders, one is a throw back to nazi occupied (& support) and the current one I'm seeing a lot of the earlier one on display and that scares me.

The fact that Belgium never was, and never will be a nation will lead inevitably to its breakup. When this happens, I think Wallonia will rejoin France as it doesn't have the (financial) means to survive on its own. Flanders on the other hand, could become one of the wealthiest nations in Europe. Brussels could become a city-state. A sort of European Washington DC.
