What Type Of Ammo To Stockpile And Why
There are so many types of ammunition to stockpile it can be hard to decide what to get. Here are some of my thoughts on the right ammo to stock!

When prepping ammo for long term storage it can make things much easier if it's all the same type. But when you talk about cartridges like 5.56x45 NATO, 7.62 NATO or even 9mm, there ends up being a lot of variety to choose from. How do you know what kind to stock up on? Which is best for SHTF ammo? M193 vs M855? What does that even mean? Hopefully this video answers some of those questions for you!

Here are some interesting and lesser known pieces of prepper gear that you might find useful:

Of course you stock 5.56, .308, 9mm and .22lr. But, do you have a specific type of cartridge? Or do you just grab whatever you can find? Hopefully this video helped give some things to focus on or at least consider when stashing ammo for the long term who knows what.

Easy one, buy ammo for the guns you have.

The prosecutor in the Kyle trial said hollow point ammo becomes explosive when it hits a deer . So That’s the kind I want to store . Sounds like I can just shoot and cook the meat all at once

22 LR, 9mm, 7.62X39, 223/556, 12 gauge, 20 gauge, 30-06. Those are my personal favorites. I’m not too picky about grains, or manufacturers.

I'm super happy for the info about the 22 ammo. I'm disabled, and a 22 is all I can handle. So, thanks mucho! I appreciate it!

Always good info on here, but is anyone else impressed by how well he speaks on camera? He rarely flubs things up and never has to do crazy edit jobs on his videos. I like to appreciate the finer things. Just wanted to share that observation.

Simple for me 22lr 9mm 45ACP .308 12 ga (slugs 00buck, BBshot, 6shot, 8shot)
Got rid of my AR-15 and moved to a AR-10 for hunting and self defense. At 70 I'm not going to be running and gunning. I can do more with 308 168 grain match grade. 180 grain soft tip for hunting. Stock more M80 150 grain. Mostly for practice.
Still investing in precious metals
LEAD & BRASS
I LIKE GOING HEAVY ON EVERYTHING. I THINK IT'S WORTH THE EXTRA MONEY FOR THE KNOCK DOWN POWER
THUMBS UP ON CCI 22LR! MY FAVORITE!
We're on the same page brother.
Be safe and healthy

7.62x39 Is my stockpile for when SHTF. I can hunt, defend my family from any attacker and it cost me pennies on the dollar few years back and still got enough to pass down

As much as you can for the calibers you have. Thats my motto.

I have the Beretta M9-22LR and you can stockpile any Ammo for it without worrying about reliability. It does NOT malfunction. Great pistol, just wanted to share.

Loved the video! My only concern is, that you talked a lot about the ballistic capabilities of M193 vs M855, but didn’t mention anything about the accuracy difference between the two. Paul Harrell made an awesome video showing the difference between the two, and it was a significant difference.

CCI 40 grain mini mags and Velocitors are my go to. I stocked up on thunderduds and Winchesters for trading.

I bought .22lr for 7.98 per 550 of thunderbolt at Walmart years ago. I think I have about 12, 000 rounds stored in ammo cans.

My only issue with M855 is it's tendency to ice pick. M193 and M855A1 don't have that issue, and while A1 is rare, M193 is common with consistent wounding characteristics. Velocity or bullet construction is key. That's why I stick with longer barrels and lighter projectiles.

I actually recently made a video on exactly this. My bottom line, do what would be most valuable and readily tradable, and what you will be using to throw lead down range.

I recently bought a Taurus TX22, and that striker fired pistol will shoot and cycle anything. I also have (and recommend) a .22LR conversion kit for AR15 rifles. It's basically just swapping out the bolt carrier group, and using the .22LR magazines that came with it. I paid about $200 for it, and I use it all the time so I don't have to shoot my 5.56 ammo when practicing.

Barrel length and twist rate change those numbers. It's less than advertised anyway. On top of that it won't matter if you ever have to use it in shtf.
Figure out where it hits at 50 100 200 and then worry about things that will matter more
