I make sure to insult my favorite streamer (FrostPrime) with money exclusively. That content tax bites hard.

That's why he added the Content Tax

getting timed out for saying no was hilarious to me, i definitely get your perspective, but I always say no to whatever you ask/do, though i don't get how that could really create an anti-income meme, but i don't exactly have a twitch channel to actually collect analytics and experiment with such, though as always it's very funny to me and keep up the good work mr streamer

yeah I feel like this isn’t talked about a ton, and while it isnt super common there are just times where the bit can go too far and get mentally tiring. it is crazy to see it get that extreme though with people actually thinking you’re a landlord LOL

It's a fine line to tread, because no matter who the streamer is, one of chat's favorite things to do is whatever the streamer doesn't want us to do. Some of the funniest streamers take advantage of that fact and engineer situations where chat disobeying their orders is both hilarious and intended to some degree.

The community is weird sometimes but i freaking love you dawg, just beat the heart the other day for the first time on AC 20 because of YOUR ironclad vid. I'm not on twitch very often but imma come over and sub next week. Love you Prime keep at it🤘

I dont watch twitch, so im not entirely understanding what the anti-streamer title means, but I recently started watching your YouTube videos and ive watched darkviper for a while and I find the fact that you guys talk about your channels like a business is interesting. At the end of the day, you need to live and, if your channels didnt produce enlugh income to fund your life, well you cant do it. Its important to understand that its other peoples money that they are spending on your streams, but in a short amount of time ive seen you expressing alot of gratitude and acknowledgement for how your viewers directly make this possible for you. Awesome channel, and as a youtube viewer, you have a crazy chat 😂

2 main thoughts on this:

1: I get where you're coming from, I did literally stop watching stream during the landlord meme and only watched YouTube because I knew it only paid Andrew. I didn't want to risk supporting a scab, even if it was only through pitiful AdSense. I only watched again after it got addressed on YouTube that you weren't a landlord, just moving house, that I started watching again. I've donated afterwards, usually when I wanted to do funny moments with TTS. The memes can hurt and I understand if you see money go down because chat is making jokes that genuinely cause a negative perception that can suck (i think with the millionaire meme you mentioned how people thought it was serious and would get mad at whales for giving so much to someone who's already rich and that made them go somewhere else). So I get laughing along until the bank balance gets hit and then wanting to course correct (like how you mentioned the millionaire meme changed to billionaire cause it was more ridiculous and people didn't actually believe it and get mad)

2: ON THE OTHER HAND I have stopped watching streams or at least taken big breaks because the constant begging, even if it's playful, gets irritating not just from a "panhandling" way but in the sense that there's donations of literally hundreds of dollars at once (people forget a sub costs 5 bucks, gifting 50 subs is like giving someone 250 dollars. Even if twitch takes 50% even if its only 50 for smaller creators and 30% for bigger streamers but even assuming at 50% that's still 125 bucks) only to then hear 10 minutes later "can we get a sub for that chat?" Or gatekeeping fun stuff behind whales donating subs (like the 5 subs to dig joke a while back) just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Everyone needs to eat, sure, I'm all for people being paid fairly and in proportional compensation to their labour, but the amount of money, the frequency at which it's asked for, and the synical thought of "again dude, really? What is the brand new house not enough?" Does all grate and makes me not want to watch the stream, or if i am make me want to say "lmao no" to the 10th beg this hour.

I'm not anti-streamer, or at least don't believe myself to be so- but just as you can not be anti-sex worker and get annoyed at being spammed with OF ads all over twitter, you don't need to be anti-streamer to be a little annoyed at the frequency. Im not saying this in hopes you'll change how you do stuff, it's your stream and chat has fun with it, the whales keep spending and no one seems hurt, just to share the perspective of someone you might consider to be "anti-streamer".

How do you put a stop to it exactly? Is it just having to explain yourself over amd over until it sticks or smthn else?

Basically to sum it up, keeping it playful is very important for everybody's success

People love to hive mind on the internet, don't they? Just started watching you and I like most of your stuff I've seen, just try to keep in mind how fortunate you are to be doing what you're doing and making a decent living out of it, lots of people struggling to make ends meet, let alone own a house and have kids, in this volatile economic and political situation we Americans find outselves in. Much love from Alabama, friend!

Most people are actually (usually) nice, but a few malicious individuals can turn a chat who just banters with the streamer into a toxic dump. They drive people away and bring out the worst in the rest.

As always, the streamer decides what they think is acceptable or not.

We love you Frost.
Anti-Streamer are just simple haters that are sour because they have a loser life and that's how they cope with it, lame people imo.

I mean, I get it you need to make money, but I think Frost is a bit too shameless at times. It gets annoying hearing him weasel and at times even demand subs. It makes the interaction feel transactional, and less enjyoyable, for me. So I dont really watch the stream, most of it I can ignore on yt.

For a while I was only watching your YouTube and I finally came over to the stream (and subbed luv u) so it’s weird to hear something I’ve already heard from one platform on another.

I think the main problem is classic ideas of fame and fortune being interlinked really messes with people. Intellectually i know the probability is the funny slay the streamer guy with a good heart isnt making millions off all sneko skull runs, but theres this VISCERAL gut reaction when someone perceved as famous talks about needing money, or 'punches down' at a chatter, even in banter, because theres this psychological link between 'fame' coming with a higher social class and station that makes Frostprime a target to 'punch up' at. And conversely all his interactions that are hostile 'punching down' when really, the actual social structure is probably a little more even keel.

Cudos to him for just adressing it tbh, being human in the digital age is a strange thing indeed.

I mean look. Most of the people who watch and donate to your streams (me included) are forced to live with family members because rent is so insanely high, food prices are ridiculous and futures look bleak. This is true for a lot of people. So hearing you saying things like I’m buying another house, a bigger one. Still making a hell of a lot more than most of the people donating to your stream to then hear you complain that you’re not making enough money from them…
I dunno 🤷‍♂️. For me it’s I’m sorry it’s stressing you out and I think you should be able to make a livable wage. However in my head I also see, oh no the poor streamer who gets to sit on his computer all day who’s making more than most People in America is having a hard time? 😭. 🤷‍♂️
