How do you prepare frozen french fries?

425 degree oven, put the pan in while it's preheating.

Put the frozen fries on a piece of aluminum foil and spritz with cooking spray or toss lightly with oil. Make sure fries are in a single layer.

Place foil on heated pan and bake for 20 minites for 1-2 servings. Salt when done.

The best results I've had with frozen fries is to let them thaw to room temps, then fry in hot oil, either peanut or canola oil. I keep an eye on the process and wait for a darker golden color. This assures a slight crispness and no soggy fries. Once they're done, I toss them on paper towels to degrease them, and quickly toss them in a bowl with a dash and salt to taste. Works every time. Cooking time varies, according to size, steak-cut, straight cut or shoe-string etc. Crinkle-cut is best for holding sauces or ketchup.

If fries occur often in your home, have a dedicated deep fryer or wok, filled with corn oil or (preferably) peanut oil. Nothing else goes in there unless they cook clean like potatoes. I just put the frozen fries in when it's at cooking temp (med-high) and check it 18 minutes later. Cook to taste. To be more Euro/Belgium, put the FF in for a dip; after 5 minutes at medium, pull them out. Then, with the oil at medium-high, put them back in (after they rested for 10 minutes) and cook at high temperature. They'll have that crispy, soft inside, genuine feel.

Apple cider vinegar and light olive oil are my go to when preparing frozen or fries made from scratch.

I typically toss them in the deep fryer. However, on the off-occasion I bake, I spray-oil the sheet and drop a little salt across it. then I put the fries down, spray-oil the tops of those, toss a little more salt on, and bake. The spray oil helps crisp them up a bit. BUT I like the cooling rack idea! I'll have to give that a shot next time I bake.

Get an old pan, fill it with oil and take the top grill grate off of your outdoor gas grill then put it right on the grill burners for a perfect frying environment. Let the oil splatter away, you are outside.

I cook my fries on the grill and you should try it. Won't disappoint

500 degrees 🤔 Pretty sure the oil will smoke, then most likely light on fire 🤯

This video isn't about making frozen french fries, it's about cooking them.

Nobody told me that pre-salting french fries was a no-no. I've salted out of the oven as well and it's a wash for me.

Thank you for this video. I always was disappointed with frozen chips, they never tasted like in a restaurant.

Only a little thing: Could you give the temperature also in degrees centigrade? Easier to understand for people outside the USA (OK, now I know 500°F = 260°C)

That character Chris Farley did on SNL is totally me. Annoying fry thief that laughs at her own jokes too loudly. Lol.

So, I'm doing it wrong by not using some new gadget that you're pushing? Air Fryers suck.
