Secret Inventions Of Leonardo Da Vinci

Leonardo da Vinci is perhaps the most renowned Renaissance man, the virtual definition of the phrase. He was an artist, painter, sculptor, illustrator, draftsman, architect, engineer, and mathematician. He is referred to as a genius, and his accomplishments epitomized the Renaissance’s transition from the Middle Ages to the modern era.

Although Leonardo da Vinci may be most famous for his works as an artist, like the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper, he actually spent more of his time working on endeavors in science and technology. And, he was one of the most prolific inventors in history.

Of course, his detailed sketches and artistry informed many of his inventions, and his creativity and imagination dreamed up many ideas long before the technology to build them actually existed. Let’s take a look at five of the most innovative inventions of Italian Renaissance man, Leonardo da Vinci.

No 'templates' of ideas available to Leonardo, to plant the seed of creation. This man looked at nature and that inspired him to create what no-one had ever built before. I like his anatomical drawings, which must have been a great inspiration for medical science. The greatest advancement in science is not necessarily a functional design. It is the concept that 'it might be able to be made' that advances technology. The Wright brothers got the investors behind them because they showed what people thought was impossible and sparked development. The dreamers dream and the physics molds the reality.

Great video. In Florence there is a museum dedicated to Leonardo's inventions. All his designs were built to scale so you can experience them. It was one of my favorite parts of my visit there.

The tank wasn't ment to be driven, there is no steering. It was designed to rotate in place and fire allowing multiple shots without reloading as well as quick adjustments to aim before firing again.

Hello I believe he was a person who had a particular life he was placed in. This gave him a mission to find meaning in his life. Through art and science and his ability to design and understand the structure of nature. Gave him the perspective and moral obligations he expressed in his life. I love all his inventions and artistic endeavors. They all tell a grater story then the sum of there parts. Christopher 2-4-2020-11:23am EST.
