Followed your advice and everything looks great. I have one Arroz con Pollo leafing out and another staying green but no leaves. I’ve found them notoriously ornery. And slow. I’m very excited! The Ozark Giants, Quadrato d’Asti, Sugar Rush Peach and poblanos are doing great!

I love overwintering peppers. I did last year and they took off more than doubled in size. The peppers i am planting back outside this spring will be their 3rd year 😊 and Gary love the new zoom affect on your videos this year!!!

Total confidence builder. Thank you. I brought in a jumbo jalapeno plant, first time ever. It seems to be keeping up with yours. I'll quit be a helicopter plant parent. :)

You and Fraser Valley Rose Farm are me go tos! Thank you@
Didn't cut my ghost pepper back hard enough, I guess. It is flowering with lots of branching.
Do I pour the light on, feed and see what happens? It certainly isn't dormant!
Next year I wont be reluctant to knock the soil off the root ball. Thx for the sand tip.

I used to overwinter the c. Chinese peppers because they took so long to grow. It gives you a big head-start next year. You are going to have so many scorpion and habs!

Another thing to use in the bottom of the pots is basket type coffee filters. The larger ones fit 1 gallon pots perfectly.
I live in zone 4. I brought in 12 plants, 2 from the garden and 10 from my greenhouse. Only the 2 from the garden managed the shock of being brought in as they had started dormancy. One of those ended up dying off. It didn't like having its leaves picked off after I brought it in the house mid October. So I had one plant out of 12 survive.
All the ones from the greenhouse were still trying to produce even though I had been gradually cutting back on water, pruning them back and picking off blossoms for over a month. I do think that dormancy is the key to success. Next year I will pot them up and try to find a cool, shadier spot that won't freeze. Our temperature extremes are a factor here. I need them inside for 5 - 7 months.

I sure wish I had indoor space to have overwintered my peppers. They were very healthy, very productive plants. Now that you've shown us how far back to trim them (other video) and how to keep them indoors, maybe I can incorporate overwintering at least a few of them into future plans. I always enjoy all of your videos, and appreciate you sharing your knowledge and tips. Best wishes for you and your loved ones always.

Wish I would have seen your other videos especially regarding bugs. I'm "dealing" with that now. Also glad you showed a few that aren't doing so good, as I have a few that have done the same. Please have a video on how to re-plant after over wintering!. Thank you or a great video.

Hello Gary! How did these do? Did the remaining pepper plants survive in 2021? I am limited in space so unsure of this is worth it. How quickly did they start fruiting? Would love to see a follow up video.

Thank you Gary, great information!!! I have saved this video and will try it next fall. I am also setting up my grow area for the near future (and of course watching your videos on that). For your zone when will start peeper seeds indoors, and when will you slowly acclimate, and transplant it outdoors (I presume around mid-May)?

Overwintering a Jalapeno and a Cayenne. 1st trying this so very interested in how they will do in the 2nd growing season. I will plant them next to new starts in spring to see how they compare.

Yeah i had some evil green bugs trying to take it slug like. I never had any bug problems with peppy out doors when she came in she was great. Then suddenly these green bugs were horrid. I had to cut off all her beauty. She is doing well has a bloom on her. I have 3 other smaller ones. All are well. Blessings brother

Hi I'm extremely glad you're replying to comments and super relief to find you. Last year was my 1st year as a beginner planter, I raised a baby bell pepper plant 🫑from 3 inches to a 2.5 ft plant. I did it all in a pot and it was very successful.
I just found out that I can overwinter the plant, sought out to watch Youtube videos and did the following:
1. Cut ALL the leaves off
2. Prune to the Y shape
3. Change pot, change to new soil, put perlite cover over it.
4. Put it near the EAST side window [big mistake, should be in a cool, dark place]

Now, the tips of where I cut the stem is turning brown then slowly to black . I cried in the inside. I don't know what is going on and I tried to read and looked online to see if anyone knows anything about it, but came back empty.
Do you know have any advice for me?

Very helpful! Should I be plucking off flower buds? I hope you will show how these do throughout the winter so I can compare.
