Much respect to all the engine mechanics from an AF pilot. I think my most fun moment was working with our engine mechanics to replace blades on a CFM56 engine on one of our tankers. It was impressive to watch them Istack the N1 intake and replace damaged blades. They used a laptop to confirm weights and blade placement. I stayed the entire time they worked because I was fascinated by this engine work. I learned a lot by watching this job in progress.
