The Confederate States of America went through three different flags during the Civil War, but the battle flag wasn’t one of them. Instead, the flag that most people associate with the Confederacy was the battle flag of Gen. Robert E. Lee’s Army of Northern Virginia.

I'm still trying to figure out why people are proud of the confederate flag. The confederate army waged war on the United States where 618, 000 men lost their lives. The population back then was only 31 million so that would be like 6.2 million men dead today. They lost the war and lost their slaves. So I'm still confused on what you're actually proud of. Are you proud that they fought for the right to own slaves or the fact that they lost the war. I hear some say its their heritage, what part of that heritage are you proud of. I truly want to know. In my eyes, it represents a group of people who fought to own other human being as property, like cattle. Maybe it's just a misunderstanding you see it one way and I see it another. I just never had it explained to me on what exactly it means other than it's our "history", "southern pride" or "heritage " without really hearing what specifically what it represents, those descriptions are very broad.

If he really believed in freedom of speech especially with flags, he wouldn't have made flag burning illegal. If it's not across the board it's not truly freedom.

Displaying a swastikas is also freedom of speech? What about having sex in public? There are many things that are offensive to others that society bans by respect and in some cases by laws.

You'd think that the leader of our country (also stable genius) would have a little more to say than just repeating "freedom of speech" over and over.
