I love watching the Olympics every four years. When they come on I'm normally glued to my television set watching the various events. I believe there are some great lessons we can learn from the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games. In this video I want to explore 11 of those lessons and key into three of the people who have made headlines this year in the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games.

That second last comment about celebrating other people's accomplishments really hit home. I've been unemployed for almost two years now and have been watching my friends get jobs, promotions and being blessed with marriage. Though I celebrated them, a part of me felt as though I didn't measure up to. As though I was less then. Thank you for highlighting that Mr Parr.❤️

Hey brother, I think you made some valid points on Simone Biles and the pressure she must have been under. However as a coach in this sport of gymnastics for the last 30 years I think there's something you may have overlooked about her situation. Although I haven't seen the entire competition yet I did see the vault that she did where she was completely disoriented in the air and didn't even do the vault she intended to do. She intended to have a complete 360 degree additional twist to the vault. As a coach I've seen many days where athletes just don't have the same air sense or physical equilibrium to know where they are as they're flipping and twisting. It's an incredibly scary feeling to be in the middle of a dangerous skill and not know how it's going to end. I think Simone was worried about her physical well-being knowing she was really "off" physically and thinking about some of the skills she was going to have to perform that day and felt she was in danger of serious injury. It's really unfortunate that it happened on that particular day but it's not uncommon in this sport and I think people need to give her a break for deciding to put her safety a higher priority than a sport. I applaud her for her decision. Again I think you brought up some very valid points but I think there's more to the picture. I enjoy your channel keep it up.

I thought Simone was very calm and thoughtful about her decision. She showed dignity; common sense and love to her team.

These Olympians are HUMAN BEINGS. They are not perfect or infallible. We all want to believe that they are greater human beings than us but it's not true. They just try harder and perform better. But they face all the same struggles that every other human being faces. It wouldn't kill anyone to have more understanding and grace.

I was a little skeptical before I begin watching the video for a couple of reasons, but after watching and hearing what you had to say, I quickly changed my mind and think you made some very wise and discerning observations and applied some very great spiritual truth to the many situations. Loved the video brother! What you said about Simone Biles made me think of Galatians 1:10 "Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ."
