The thing I have always found tricky with three notes per string and using all four fingers is mixing it up with my more pentatonic and blues based stuff that tends to be mostly three fingers. The fingers will be in the wrong spot to switch from one to the other way of playing. Even after all the time I have played, i still have not managed to mix the two styles, so it becomes just one style. I have a blues and rock pentatonic style and then this kind of thing.
Another thing is knowing what to do after a run and not getting stuck at the end of it. A M.A. Batio tip helped a bit. He said to always end every run you practice with an improvised lick. Makes sense

Man, thanks so much for that reverse headstock strat style / dinky style Jackson. I am 59 and came up in the 70s and 80s and Jackson / Charvel were the first real cool custom shop to me and most of my guitar playing friends here in the midwest USA.
Of course I like all guitars as I'm sure you probably do.
