I much like the idea of having at least a few physical buttons for the most common functions. I own a 2020 Jetta GLI and am thankful I decided to snag it before they refreshed the Jetta and, more than likely, its infotainment input methods.

The SEL badge in the rear is not aligned properly. Thanks, Mexico.

Beautiful and mature looking SUV, it just needs more power in my opinion. Why not add the VR6?

I have a 2019 SEL 4-motion which I enjoy. This new refresh external cosmetics changes are nice, the leather interior color is beautiful, but they removed many knob controls in various areas of the dash, not good. Motoman said the HP was at 194, approx. increase of 8-10. That is the problem, but I did not purchase my Tiguan for cornering, performance driving, but it needs more HP big time. The GTI engine would be the better R Line version of the 2022 Tiguan.

Spot on with all of your recommendations for this vehicle. Less moving parts should equal better reliability which would help the Germans compete with the Japanese on the reliability front. Can’t wait for the Golf R review.

Basically the Atlas SEL-P R-Line light... I prefer the Atlas VR6. It actually handle much better.

They have a 1.4L PHEV drive train they could slot into it.
I am surprised they don't offer the 162kw 2L TSI engine in the Tiguan in the USA. Far peppier than the engine you get at the moment.

And we were able to have the full R version, VW would be able to pay even more bills! It would sell like hotcakes!

Great “preview”. You managed to make the video intriguing without driving the car!
They need a plug-in hybrid, that will make this a perfect road trip vehicle.

We agree totally that hybridization would make the tiger iguana a top option.

You are so right that they need to offer this as a hybrid. The shame is that the Euro base Golf we are not getting is sold exclusively as a mild hybrid unless specified with a manual or diesel. There isn't much engineering effort needed to offer the same eTSI drivetrain in the Tiggy. At the very least, it would lend more credibility to their electrification persona.

VW please bring the Tiguan R and Arteon R to the US!

MotorMan, nice Preview review. I'm an Oldtimer, at 69 YO. Probably looking to step down from my 2019 Acura MDX Advance leased until June 2022. I don't really need 3rd Row SUV, even with 4 Grand kids and 1 more on the way. I think I would be looking for something to "step" down in size and more sportiness. I'm NOT sold on Plug in Hybrids or all Electric Cars (Tesla, etc.). A typical Hybrid is more intriguing. The amount of products to compare is almost overwhelming. But overall Value is Important to me most Value for the Buck. And having a capable AWD capacity being located in the NE. Also, as is pointed put in this video and by Posters, having "Buttons" and /or real touch screens is a major consideration for me. I really liked the 2020 or 2021 Acura RDX but the lack of a touch screen Infotainment center is CON to me. Mazda has done the same thing (Mazda is the Poor Man's BMW), and Subaru (I have had 3 of them since 1986), went and is sticking with CVTs.... too bad. This Tiguan, is very intriguing, I'm liking the conservative but stylish look, 4 Motion technology (which I assume is very comparable to Audi Quattro), impressive interior, etc. We Shall See .

Looks like they took no risks. However being aware that vehicles such as the Cupra Formentor VZ5 exist, I can only look at this VW, sadly shake my head, and ask VW, “Is this all?”

Just put the GTI engine in it. I feel like it needs more power

Love the car! Beats the crap out of anything from Asia. I think they didn’t show it in red because that’s a very polarizing color: you either love it or hate it. I happen to hate it, so I’m glad they chose the more elegant grey.

would flashing the engine, giving it a better power story, cost you at the warranty table?
