Best solution to this is put your stuff in a chest and either respawn or if you don't want to lose xp put your most valuable items in the chest and either try to find the portal or get obsidian from the nether.

Solutiion:
Mine the gold in bastions and trade them with piglins they sometimes drop obsidian if you have enough build a portal and use a ghast to light it only if you don't have a flint and steel
