I remember when I was 15 years old, I had really gotten into Rock music and my dad absolutely hated it, I remember one day I was playing this song in my room full blast and my dad came annoyed and told me to turn it off, I’ll never forget my grandpa was passing by my room and told my dad “what do you mean turn it off fool, that’s freaking SANTANA!!!”, literally the coolest and most wholesome moment

Carlos was trippin BALLS during this whole set. Which makes it even more incredible that he was able to play and not make any mistakes. He was famously quoted as saying “ I was praying to god to just get me through the set and then my guitar neck started turning into a snake”😄

first let me tell you my experience of Woodstock. what I remember was traffic up the ass, then nothing but shit, piss, vomit and nothing to eat or drink. that being said I would not trade one minute of it. what a experience, maybe the high light of my life.
I became a carpenter a few years later working on a stage for Carlos and got to talk to him about this experience and the years before . what a great conversation. It still makes me smile.

I gotta appreciate the effort of the filming crew who decided to record this historial event that was Woodstock Music Festival, including a very young Martin Scorsese and his legendary editor Thelma Schoonmaker. The quality of the film is superb, like filmed yesterday.
