In this video, I tell you and show you how to tell when a cantaloupe is ripe and perfect to pick or cut open. There are a few things that you should look for, feel for, and smell for that will allow you to know about the ripeness of a cantaloupe. It might take a few minutes to determine if it is ripe at first, but once you've practiced the process a few times, you'll be able to spot a ripe cantaloupe in a matter of a couple of seconds.

Thank you. A lady help me buy my very first cantaloupe and she did indeed smell it. Now I know why. It was perfect! My next one I bought myself and it was NOT RIPE enough. Now I also know why! LOL Great information.

Thanks for the tips—you've solved a lifelong source of frustration (eating unripe cantaloupe). Respectful tip to you: Improve your microphone setup. Even a cheap clip-on would be a big improvement over your current setup, which seems like your recording in an echo chamber.

Nice thanks. 1st time growing them and boy they have overtaken some stuff should i trim these vines to keep them from growing so long or should i just let them grow as much as they can? Regardless thanks for the info.

2 years back I bought some label said was from Arizona and in small gunny meshcsacks they were the best thisecisxwatvicwas looking for in stores this year but only found these #3307 labeled not cut it yet. But I will cut labor day see if it compares with those one one that got to cut .labor day.
