I have had my 14” M1 Pro MacBook Pro for a little over 3 weeks now. It replaced a 16” intel based notebook. I had always purchased the larger size laptop to get the higher end CPU/GPU. I am so, so happy that you don’t need to do that in this generation. While at my desk I have it connected to an LG 5K display and while the intel machine sounded like a jet aircraft, the fans don’t even turn on in the new one.

I have had mine about a month. My first Mac and am happy with it. Best experiences coming from Dell XPSs is the long battery life, low operating temps and fans are not often heard. The notch does not bother me as much as the menu bar sits around it. Face ID would have been great but I am happy with Touch ID. Apple Watch sign in is not bad but I have had a few inconsistencies where the Mac does not detect the watch. The display is great. I would have preferred if it had a thinner lower bezel like the XPS infinity display but it is not an issue. Apps have been good for the most part. Mail can sometimes be temperamental when shutting down. I have had to force quit it a few times.

I’m going into my second month with my 16” M1 Pro Macbook Pro and the “shiny” hasn’t wore off a bit. It’s still oohs and aahs each time I see applications screaming by on its gorgeous screen. It’s by far my favorite computer, and I’ve had many great ones since my very first (Apple 2) computer in the 80s.

I had bought a used 2017 MBP. It got extremely hot, like ridiculously hot. I disassembled it and took out the logic board so I could replace the thermal paste. The paste was all over the place. I replaced the paste with a carbon pad. There was a noticeable differences of 10 degree celsius drop at idle. Still gets hot of course, but it’s not burning your skin hot anymore. I had a Lenovo laptop that was okay brand new. 5 months later, the fans are spinning up all the time. I had repasted that too with some good stuff and it also dropped 10c. Manufacturers need to stop using cheap paste!

Brought base model 16” MacBook. More than enough for my daily task. Really wanted a bigger screen. My last MacBook lasted more than 5 years until it got stolen. Battery last a whole day. Love the new keyboard. Was not a fan of the butterfly key board. Touch ID works super fast. The only thing I wish it had was USB A. Also miss boot camp. Wished Apple would come out with boot camp for Window ARM. Don’t want to buy a 3rd program to run Windows. Another great video. Thanks Lisa.
