Windows Will SAVE Your Old Mac

If you use a 2018 or older MacBook, it's probably not supported by Apple on the newest macOS. Luckily you can use either OpenCore Legacy Patcher or Boot Camp to install Windows 10 to breathe new life in your Mac.

also, the reason so apps opened slower was because you were using the geine effect, which makes the animations when opening the app from the dock smoother. switch to the scale effect for better results.

there are people in my emgineering classes who have macbooks, for whatever reason, and everytime they bring up the fact that none of our programs run on mac, everyone tells them to put windows on it.

Using legacy patched Ventura on a 2011-2012 i5 MacBook, 16 gb ram, 512 gb ssd. It works incredibly well. Need to replace the original battery tho

gaming laptops that are used for gaming take more maintenance than your typical pc or laptop, they take soooo much more air intake and you have to clean them out regularly or that’s how they typically get so slow so fast because they are starved of air.

“Mac’s only get updates for a few years”
This MacBook is from 2015, that’s more than seven years of updates.

Alternatively you can install Linux, even 2011 Macs run smoothly with a lightweight distro like Debian.

this is why i love Intel Macs. You can run damn near anything on 'em!

If I ever have an old Mac that I want to breath fresh life into, Windows is the last thing I’m installing. If it has to be something else, let it be Linux.

From what I understand, I think open core doesn’t modify macOS at all (unless it needs to patch graphics, etc…). Open core is an efi bootloader that bypasses the Mac bootloader so newer operating systems can run. If I’m wrong comment down below cause I’d like to know for sure what it does in the event I am wrong

If I ever get a macbook in the future I'll definitely be running linux on it right off the bat and have it play mostly old games. Well at least whatever is considered old by then.

Im running a dual boot of Mac os Ventura (Patched) and windows 11 on my macbook pro early 2012 and windows works flawlessly! Mac os on the other hand started showing signs of slowdowns and small bugs after i upgraded from the highest officialy supported release but stuck with the latest (ventura) to hopefully have apps supported on it for a while!

Given Windows 10 will be fully dropped by 2025, Id say Linux is the best way to go

The funny thing is that windows runs better on a Mac than it does on an official windows laptop. And that comparison is with a Mac and a Windows machine that have the exact same specifications. I don’t know why or how this happens, but the Mac, with the exact same specifications runs better.
