BEHIND THE BOYS as they stand in the cold remedy aisle, looking at the daunting, vast array of cold and cough medicines.
BUTTERS
Gee wiz, there sure are a lot of em...
KYLE
How do we know which one to use?
Stan takes a box off the counter that looks like a box that robitussin bottle comes in. It's called 'Colminex'.
STAN
How about this one - Colminex.
(reading label)
WARNING - TAKING MORE THAN RECOMMENDED AMOUNT CAN CAUSE SEVERE SIDE EFFECTS"
CARTMAN
That sounds perfect!
JIMMY
Bingo.
That's when super friendly, super pleasant ol' Mr. Anders walks up in his drugstore outfit.
MR. ANDERS
Can I help you boys?
STAN
Uh, yeah, we need to come up with some ideas and inspiration so we were gonna drink a bunch of cough medicine.
MR. ANDERS
Woa! Boys! That's not what you need to come up with ideas!
KYLE
It's not?
MR. ANDERS
No! What you want is the Colminex PM.
He grabs another box off the shelf, this one cough pills - and hands it to Kyle.
MR. ANDERS (CONT'D)
It has the dextrimatphan in it that causes hallucinations in large doses.
KYLE
Oh okay.
MR. ANDERS
Now, if it's more of a lucid, speedy kind of high you're looking for, I do also carry the LateNurse Cold and Flu.
He takes that off the counter and holds it.
MR. ANDERS (CONT'D)
Then there's the Maximum strength Dongatussin Cough 'n Cold, but of course, that's only if you REALLY want to trip balls.
JIMMY
What do you think fellas?
STAN
I guess we'll just take all of them.
MR. ANDERS
That's the spirit... Alright boys, I'll just need your parents permission.
The boys look at each other.
MR. ANDERS (CONT'D)
Kidding! I'm just pullin' your legs. Come on over to the register!
The walk to the register with all three cold medicines and find that Mr. Garrison is standing at the register with Mr. Slave with the exact same cold medicines sitting on the counter.
MR. GARRISON
Oh! Looks like somebody else is doing a little partying tonight!
MR. SLAVE
Oh Jesus Christ!
BUTTERS
We aren't having a party.
MR. GARRISON
Oh yeah sure! You're just buying that for your BAD COUGHS, right?
(fake coughs)
Us to!

MR. SLAVE

I remember a dare teacher wanting to go home and bring flyers to our parents about how they shouldn't vote for medical Marijuana. The reason being cannabis can't be medicinal is because it wasn't approved by the fda

But a main reason given was that you can't just go in a store and pick out whatever medicine you wanted, you couldn't have flavored medicine either. One of the first things I thought of was cough syrup

Woke up feeling sick. Dad told me to go to school because he didn't believe me. He said "take a swig of medicine and go!"

So I gulped down some generic cough medicine...

My first class for that day was ART3. I drew a picture of a monkey wearing a hat and pointing at a person and talking trash to them. Good sketch too.

Room was wavy gravy and I felt awesome. My desk buddy was staring at me smirking because I was talking nonsense about whatever.

I don't remember when it wore off but high school sucked so much that it probably got me through the worst of it that one particular day.
