This feels like one of those retro videos made back in the day. I really like it.

Please do one where fps suddenly drop from 144 to 90fps and watch gsync remove all the stutter! (best feature of gsync!)

Make gsync monitors are cheaper, you greedy nvidia!

I do believe that G sync is overrated. Yes it helps with reducing screen tearing but without slowmotion, with high fps and not a high mouse sensitivity screen tearing is (almost) non existent. Would rather use the €200 saved money on a better graphics card or cpu which would give me more fps.

Lol crazy how so many people in the comments are completely clueless of what they're talking about and yet argue relentlessly hahaha

G-Sync is expensive. But that's OK. We pay hundreds more for bigger GPUs just to get a few more FPS anyway.

Premium price for a (now proven) premium experience. Good video, well done.

Even if you may not notice it a lot, an 144hz monitor with G-SYNC/Free Sync makes it feel A LOT more smoother than a 144hz monitor without G-SYNC/Free Sync. More worth to buy a 144hz screen with G-Sync/Free Sync (Not V-sync tho).

G-Sync is useful when your framerate is somewhere under the max refresh of your monitor. For example, GTA 5 runs at around 70-80 fps on my ASUS PG348Q. G-Sync makes it feel extremely smooth with no screen tearing. However, when the framerate can be way above your max refresh rate, like 200-300 fps, G-Sync is useless. You may want to use Fast Sync or no sync to minimize your input lag. Speaking of V-Sync, this inferior thing is only useful when you don't care about input lag.

I have a 180hz gsync. I was deciding betweem that and 244 regular, my decision has been reassured. Also my computer usually chills at 200 on most games, although I do plan on upgrading to a 1080

The sacrifice for gsync is overall liquidity in my experience, makes the image incredible solid but it feel slightly off in terms of smoothness.

Adaptive sync tech is great. If I had to choose I would pick high refresh no adaptive sync over 60 hz with adaptive sync. The crispness from gaming at 120 FPS and up is excellent. Both adaptive sync and high refresh is wonderful together though!

Why don't you also record the 144Hz with V-sync on?

Thank you. This helped me make up my mind. I will go with BenQ Zowiexl2411p no g-sync.

Got mine monitor with 144hz and G sync for 200€
It was a used monitor but it still works and looks like a new one 👍

so why Gsync version of this monitor have 5ms response time compared with the freesync version which have 1ms?

Maybe it's me but 144hz G Sync seems to cause more image ghosting, I paused randomly several times and it seems the G Sync version has more at worst and at best even. I really couldn't find a random instance where the non G Sync had more. That being said there was certainly frame tearing but that's not a big issue at all, it's noticeable at lower frame rates (on 60hz monitors) but really once you get in the 120h fps area with a 120hz+ monitor the latency between each frame is much smaller resulting is less dramatic tearing.

I bought a 144hz monitor two years ago, and I'll be honest it was hard to tell the difference I thought maybe slightly but I felt it could have very well been placebo. A high refresh rate monitor isn't something most will use and instantly see a difference (unless your old monitor had a really bad latency and ghosting was a common problem) less ghosting was really the only thing I could notice after a hour or so using it. However with that said while high refresh rate isn't something you are likely to instantly notice it is one of those things where you don't really notice it (once some experience with it) until you do not have it. People often say the change isn't noticeable at first and I fully agree but most seem to feel going from a 144hz monitor to a 60hz monitor is noticeable and I too strongly agree with that.

I still have my old monitor as a back up second monitor for random what not like Discord but a few times I have decided to use it to game and even at 60hz there was a blatantly obvious difference, the experience felt laggy and choppy 100% no placebo every single time I noticed it beyond a doubt.

So to the folks considering a 144hz monitor (with or without FreeSync/G Sync) odds are you will not notice the difference even after several days it can be hard to justifiably say beyond a doubt there is a noticeable difference (unless you have previously used one) the difference isn't dramatic and it's not very noticeable but I promise you if you are looking to get one, you use it and get use to it than you switch back/play on your old monitor you will notice it than.

In general games just feel laggy/choppy going from 144hz to 60hz even at >100fps on a 144hz monitor isn't all that bad due to the improved latency and less ghosting so if you ever play a game and you simply can't push high frame rates without serious sacrifice to graphics even than a 60-80 fps experience on a 144hz monitor is still better than that on a 60hz monitor due to the decreased latency.

Not trying to run on really but this can be one of those things where it's hard to really understand what you are getting into if you are considering it, while you can watch 1000 videos explaining it you never really truly understand what they mean until you have experienced it so in short

60hz to 144hz monitor arguably not noticeable
144hz to 60hz monitor very noticeable

I bought in to gsync because of all the claims about smooth visuals at lower framerates but I found that low framerates are just as annoying and noticeable with gsync. It's worthwhile if it's cheap but otherwise I would recommend a high refresh monitor and as much gpu as you can buy.

Um ok my monitor supports 144hz g sync and when I turn it on i can notice a difference but barely... I get around 220fps on overwatch so does that make gsync useless? ( what I mean is... is gsync only usefull for ppl who get less than 60fps?

Is it possible to turn a non-g sync graphics card to a g-sync graphics card?
