I have gone so far down the rabbit hole on this subject that I’ve become a completely dysfunctional wreck. I cry my eyes out every day. It’s all I can manage to get out of bed and eat. I don’t know how to psychically withstand this.

20% of our energy is electricity, the world's largest irrigated crop is the lawn, that we irrigate with filtered water, fertilise and cut with fossil fuel powered machines.
We could take electricity with us and go back to growing our own food, stop working jobs that maintain a corrupt system and we would lower emissions 60% at least with everybody getting food, shelter and medical care, for free, and be much better off. This of course does ruin the economic model as we know it, a small cost going forward.

Looking at this from outside of our historical moment, let’s take a moment to appreciate all that science has given us. Long life spans with advanced medical care and generally speaking, stability (ie: no Black Death or ww2). We just need to realize as a whole that the way our ancestors lived with a family of 6-12 was mostly a necessity and often was not desirable. For the first time in human history we can ask ourselves not only do we want children, but should we have children. We’re going into a period in time where we will start asking for quality over quantity.
