Hi i have recently discoved the world of microsoft flight sim along with my 13 year old autistic son. The game has given him so much joy that i recently purchased the turtle beach velocity one flight stick based on your recommendation. Just wanted to thank you for your vids which have really helped both us newbies out.

Just returning to this Back to Basics series after spending a decent amount of time with MSFS 24 over the past few weeks and following the 2024 Christmas and New Year break. I watched the video you released on basic controls and autopilot for 2024 (part 50) last night but wanted to get back to watch the rest of the series in proper sequence and this was the perfect one to watch.

This one is brilliant!! Such a great explanation of the Autopilot features, so clear and concise and at just the right pace. I have a working knowledge of everything discussed here but there are still things that occur that leave me scratching my head and being able to look back on this just refreshes the ol' memory perfectly 👌 As an example setting a different altitude in flight I completely forgot that it was the Vertical Speed that you need to select to get the autopilot to adjust the altitude to what you have set it to with the Alt knobs.

I'll be watching this again and taking some notes as a reminder for me of various aspects of AP flying.

One other thing I noticed from this is that on the secondary screen the display shows the little plane in the same way you can see on the EFB in 24. But on this screen in 24 it just shows a little grey circle for me. The plane is much better as you can easily see attitude of it and it's much easier to note if you are in the right direction, etc when looking to pick up the route of your flightplan for the GPS. The 2024 version is pretty poor in that respect. Do you know if it's possible to get that plane indicator in 24 or are we stuck with the circle.

Great vid, I have been trawling through all your content since I got my xbox. Can you tell me which Autopilot setting you have mapped in the options setting? There seems to be so many autopilots on and off I am having trouble, especially in the Beechcraft King Air. I use keyboard, controller and Airbus Joy Stick X, many thanks, cheers.
