My IFR flights NEVER go smoothly. ATC has me flying at 20000ft in approach then wants me to decend down to 1500ft when im so close to landing. Absolute joke.

Thanks for the tremendous tutorial! My mistake was failing to engage "managed flight heading mode" and the plane was not following the flight plan. Lol at that hard landing - not your fault at all! :)

Finally found a beginner-friendly tutorial. I've spent three days just trying to fly a plane as simply as in GTA V. But every tutorial I came across involves filling the monitor screen at the bottom middle near the thrust control with loads of letters and numbers, without explaining where to get those numbers and letters or what they are for. Plus, there are so many terms that aren't explained for beginners... I just want to fly from airport A to airport B without needing to become a real pilot and understand everything... like flying a plane in GTA San Andreas... just press accelerate and fly. When landing, just descend and brake... I just want it to be like that 😭😭But it seems this is the simplest way, and this tutorial is very helpful, at least for flying from point A to point B. Even though it still doesn't explain why I need to choose ILS 20 and what that is, or what the difference is between the dropdown menu options like arrival, direct, IRF, VOR, or whatever. I tried Googling it but ended up with articles about becoming a real pilot :( . Well, maybe it's still not as simple as GTA V, but it's simple enough for a beginner like me who knows absolutely nothing about aviation...

If you have a Flight Plan fully setup then you can have the aircraft fly that plan perfectly -
1. set throttle to CL detent after take-off (the autothrottle then looks after everything throughout the flight).
2. Make sure Flight Director (FD) is on before you take-off then when you activate the autopilot the aircraft computers will follow the flight plan exactly - no need to input heading or course info - only altitude info needs to be adjusted by the pilot.
