You can simply press . (full stop) and in browser vscode will open with the project. No need to type anything in the address bar.

Ways to open a repo in an embedded vscode:

Write vscode in front of the url: YES
Press period on the keyboard: YES
Add a button to the UI: NOOOO!!!

Hacking is when you do something is not suposed to be used that way.
When using a applications as intended is just being an user.
