James O'Brien's most powerful Brexit monologue yet | LBC

This is the James O'Brien Brexit monologue which some LBC listeners have branded the most powerful yet.

Famed for his powerful and emotive soliloquies on the UK's departure from the European Union today James has outdone his previous bests.

LBC listeners branded the Brexit commentary as "amazing" and "well worth a listen."

As the deadline for securing a deal rapidly approaching, James said that "whatever happens in the next few days it's going to be bad."

"Brexit was meant to make our lives better, right?"

James's comments come as Boris Johnson warned it is "very, very likely" that the UK will fail to strike a post-Brexit trade deal with the European Union.

The Prime Minister said he was "hopeful" that progress could be made in talks but stressed that the two sides remained stuck on fisheries and the so-called level-playing field.

His comments came after European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen said the negotiating teams' positions remained apart on "fundamental issues".

I'm with James on this I've looked at everything the economists Paul Krugman, Yannis Varoufakis have said regarding Brexit. And I've looked at what the politicians have said over the last 4 years. And who was singing the benefits of Brexit the Barclay brothers, Rupert Murdoch etc. James Dyson Brexit cheerleader extrodinaire is leaving for Singapore and taking his business with him! We're FnCKed.

As more pro-Brexit trolls come in on JOB's broadcasts here to spew and dump their verbal diarrhoea as more it affirms that he is obviously seen as a threat to those morons for telling well informed and solid truth and exposes those who call in and deserve to be silenced. James, you are a delight amongst the frontline members of the media and a 'must-hear' as a daily digest. For me, you are for sure.

Thank you James. You truly shed light on the farce we are living.

Nothing in life is guaranteed - but you know before you click or land on a James O Brien thread it will have hundreds of dislikes.

For those people who automatically brush off James OB ... May I suggest that you listen to his words and take on board. No matter whether you like him or not ... his words are credible and sensible ... 👍

If you live in London or the south
The north has been forgotten for years
So the north has nothing to lose
They had nothing in the first place

Really scary. It is expected that people lie for their own gain, as Johnson clearly did. But how can we defend our societies from this?

I had no idea that Britain and the United States paralleled each other so intrinsically over the past 20 years or so. This is mind-boggling to me and as somebody who's watched her country descend into madness my heart goes out to Britain.

The only power this has is the power to send more listeners to talk radio

Another person who can't take the result. Democratic results by the people take the result. Brexit hasn't happened yet and people have been struggling for years in Europe. I do hate people who rant and try talking down to everyone. Not a mention of Europe refusing to let U.K. Planes to land in Europe until we sign up to a level playing field. People know what they voted for expect it and let's see what happens. If Europe wanted to see us fall flat on our faces they would say fine and just leave and see what happens!

Powerful narrative James. We've lost so much. Where on earth does all this "hate" come from.

I'm not a Brit, but listening to this made me cry for my country. Thank you for this.

Brexit is to give you dignity that you may rejoin a country with its own sovereignty.

The reason we don't listen to LBC anymore. Talk Radio much more honest.

Brexit did make our lives better - we procured our own vaccines and massively out performed the EUs program. JOB always goes on “name one benefit” there it’ is, and it’s a huge one that actually saved lives

A requirement for 2 minute temperature test at borders caused a 60 km backlog into Switzerland. Border restrictions for paperwork will be far more onerous and the Customs IT does not come in until 2024, when it may be found not to work. This is regardless of the £16bn. price tag.
Nor are the 50, 000 extra customs staff recruited, 25, 000 civil servants, or the 50, 000 extra Customs clearance staff in the private sector. Add to that Lorry Parks and border infrastructure uncompleted in 4 and a half wasted (( & expensive) "transitional years"
Meanwhile continental lorry drivers who form 85% of delivery workers will be giving the UK a wide berth for a long time. UK transport firms will be hampered by restrictive numbers of licences, restrictions on numbers of drops and the likely need for International Driving Licences

Start stocking up for a long haul in 2021

If you're going to put down his opinion, please put a point forward... if you're going to just say he's the problem or he's spreading lies, that's why quotes exist. Quote his point and disprove it.. please!!
I beg you

"Anti-history." That's quite a standpoint. More likely "anti-embarrassment" drives their dialogue
