One Feature I HATED From Every Assassin's Creed

So I recently replayed almost every Assassin’s Creed earlier this year and, i’ve come to realize that the Assassin's Creed games are not perfect. There’s a lot of things in the series that are considered flaws. But that doesn’t mean it’s necessarily a bad game. In fact, i don't really think there’s a single bad assassins creed game, maybe just a little underwhelming. So in this video, I wanna go over 1 thing which I disliked from each of the mainline assassins creed games.

Assassin's Creed is an open-world, action-adventure, and stealth game franchise published by Ubisoft and developed mainly by its studio Ubisoft Montreal using the game engine Anvil and its more advanced derivatives. Created by Patrice Désilets, Jade Raymond, and Corey May, the Assassin's Creed video game series depicts a fictional millennia-old struggle between the Order of Assassins, who fight for peace and free will, and the Knights Templar, who desire peace through order and control. The series features historical fiction, science fiction, and fictional characters intertwined with real-world historical events and historical figures. In most games, players control a historical Assassin while also playing as an Assassin Initiate or someone caught in the Assassin–Templar conflict in the present-day framing story. Considered a spiritual successor to the Prince of Persia series, Assassin's Creed took inspiration from the novel Alamut by the Slovenian writer Vladimir Bartol, based on the historical Hashashin sect of the medieval Middle East.

Since I'm an introvert, I did bond with Connor really well and I like him a lot. Perhaps not as much as Ezio, but I would put him in my top 5 characters. I also think the worst thing about brotherhood is that if you fail full synch, you must restart the whole mission. We must also note that Ubisoft Sofia (AC Rogue's developers) didn't make a main AC game before and had only 8 months to create AC Rogue.

I was so frustrated with unity's story. The cinematic trailer made me think it would be about helping out the revolution and assassinating the templar nobles. They could even do a 180 where arno turns against the assassins during the reign of terror.

Yeah considering connor was assaulted by Charles lee and choked against a tree for minutes and having to deal with his mother quite literally burning alive all while he was a kid id imagine he wouldn't be the most open. Im curious if you even touched the homestead missions connor shows alot of appreciation and emotion for the people he met its a whole new side. It should be quite mandatory for people to do the homestead missions before judging him

I think Claudia would've been good to have in AC: Revelations. She could've been their at the start of every sequence talking with Ezio about what he intended to do. Instead of writing letters to her. Letters that could've been easily intercepted.

I think One of the thing they Could have done In Syndicate is that they could also rebuilt the Brotherhood in London.
Gang members only used by Jacob,
Assassins only locked to Evie.

I'm a Connor defender, he's probably got the drippiest default robes in the whole franchise and his fighting style with the tomahawk is iconic. He's not the charismatic ladies man like Ezio was, he's much more introverted and thoughtful.

His arguments with Achilles over action vs inaction, and his interactions with Haytham and the other Templars were the deepest we've seen the protagonist or the games themselves actually discuss the ideologies of the two factions.

I know this was posted a while ago, but I really wanted to add something. About Assassin's Creed 3 and Connors story, I fully understand your view point on him. And him being nothing like Ezio, but Connor is a character who suffered a terrible experience and most likely had some kind of child hood trauma (But which assassin doesn't have that?) Connor wanted justice and maybe he was dull or maybe even selfish or naive but then again he was still young and never really knew a way to go about things. Connor is entirely a character seen with a introverted and philosophical personally, which he is but is also a person with heart even expressing discomfort after killing William Johnson. He wanted to believe in the Templars and Assassins working together even if it was impossible. We do get to understand Connor more as a person in the homestead mission which really show what Connor is really like outside of battle and away from everything, we can see him be funny, shy, happy, humble, worried and all of the above. It's kinda like when you enter a classroom and your friend isn't there so you become quiet and don't say much, , but when they are there it's a total change up. Connor reminds me of Charles Smith from Red Dead Redemption 2 with their personally. Connor can be dull but it's more of a cover up to how he really is. This probably makes no sense but thats my take anyway Bye!

I have to disagree with Eivor despite him not being an assassin I still liked him as a protagonist and plus in ac lore he’s actually quite important being responsible for the founding of the Templar order after making Alfred the great sort of resign

What I hated about Syndicate was how Evie was portrayed as being flawless. It would have been fine if we didn’t have to play missions where Evie has to “fix” the problems that arise from Jacob’s missions. It would be fine if she didn’t have those missions or if Jacob had his own missions where Evie’s focus on the mission caused her to get allies killed or captured and Jacob has to save them.

What was added to AC1 after the kids comment was the collectable flags. The investigations and, to a lesser extent, citizen saving were part of the main story.

Ac3 worst part is that viewpoints dont unlock the whole map, you still have to run around to show the entire map. Only game with this for a good reason

The thing about AC Unity is that they wanted to portray Arnos life as a kid to as an adult, making you feel the sadness as your character feels those emotions aswell. That’s why they didn’t focus on the French Revolution

You’re right. There isn’t a bad Assassins Creed game. Just underwhelming in some areas. They’re all good and each has a different personality and play style for every player.

We never want the devs to make it like the original. Copy and paste style. Just make it better with the things we love about them. And the things we want

I always loved ACIII, everyone was hating on it for being a "potato selling simulator" but what I liked about it is that Connor could be a focused assassin that rushes through the main story, a sensitive, yet couragous man that cared about the manor and wanted to expand the settlement near it, a naval devil that conquered the waves, or a treasure hunter. I also loved that you could be either a lone wolf, or grow yourself some other Assassins by your side to match the Squad Haytham gathered. I loved that the scen when connor is about to be executed changes depending on how many Assassins connor gathered alongside him. love this game forever!

imo unitys story is pretty good i like it, My problem with unity is the muskets and flintlocks, There is no counter other than a weird unpredictable rolling system that doesnt work half the time, Wouldve preferred the system from ac3 where you can use a guard as a bullet shield.

What killed Odyssey for me was being unable to turn off the Enemy Auto Level. I'm not a serious gamer. I play to have fun and lose myself in these worlds. I don't want to spend hours trying to kill some boss and constantly get killed. I usually get about 5 levels above and then have a better chance of killing a boss and getting back to the game.

I think Connor got a bad wrap. We had three games with a character from birth to his death. He was a funny playboy to start and we watched him grow. Connor had a much different upbringing with watching almost his entire tribe (including his mother) die. That's quite a bit different from Ezio. So of course Connor would have a totally separate attitude. People seemed to me to want more of the same which they did not get. I found Connor to be a step in the right direction. Change is a good thing.

The only thing I didn't like was the first few hours with Hytham. He just bored the hell out of me.

I’ve been playing through all Assassin Creed games since the end of December. I started with Valhalla for whatever reason but then went in order of release. I’m on Origins now and though I’m nearing the end it’s been a blast going through all of them back to back!!
