My wife and I have a couple of cats. They have difficulty controlling their claws--they scratch everything and get stuck in things. We've often thought they were taken from their mother too early, that she'd have tought them to take their claws in. We rescued them after they were abandoned in a park, so who knows when they lost their mother.

Make sure you don't "play with hands", it's easily done but when they're bigger and stronger, they'll go for your hands when you go to stroke them, thinking you're playing, always use toys 🙂
