This is a compilation video of my efforts to capture last week's rare transits of Saturn and Jupiter by the Hubble Space Telescope (HST)
For my first attempt I drove 1.5 hours out to Laravale in Queensland (the only clear patch of sky predicted along the transit path). I set up my two cameras well ahead of time, waited patiently, but in the final seconds I had a total brain fade and forgot to press record on the main camera until about 1 second too late !! (hence the sound of shock and the expletive at the start of the video)
As you may well imagine I was utterly devastated at missing what will possibly be a once in a lifetime opportunity. I did manage further successful attempts with Jupiter very close to home.

To plan the shooting location (which has to be accurate to within a few metres) I used a combination of Heavens-Above website, Stellarium and Google Earth.
The telescope was a GSO 10" F4 Newtonian with Televue Powermate 2x and a ZWO ASI1600MM-Pro camera with LRGB filters. Mount was a SkyWatcher EQ6-R. The video was captured with SharpCap Pro in luminance, then RGB frames taken immediately afterwards to colourise Jupiter.
