Just compare the representation of women in Indian politics( or any other field for that matter) to that of the America or Uk or any other European countries. And not just gender inequality but also the inequality in social mobility. We are a failed society. Rather than cherishing that fact that they have Indian roots, we should be ashamed that people are leaving India in search of a better and just life. We are a terribly corrupt country consistently failing on creating a societal structure conducive for real growth.

Bharatvasis are excited about Kamala Harris and Usha Vance. Earlier, they were excited about Rishi Sunak. They are proud of Nikki Haley, and Vivek Ramaswamy. Many of these worthies openly advertise their Hindu faith. How come then Bharat does not give the same space to people who are foreign born and do not look like them. Sharad Pawar resigned from the Congress Party as he did not accept the Italian-born Sonia Gandhi to be the PM; almost 30 years later how many people will accept her as the PM? Tom Alter, the Bollywood actor born and raised in Bharat, complained about still being treated as a foreigner because of his skin color and looks.The people of the North East States still fight to be accepted as full Bharatvasis, not Chinese. Is it hypocricy, bigotry, ignorance, or all? NAMO and the BJP do not recognize non-Hindus as full citizens deserving a place in the country's political structure? Look at the recent U. P. I am not sure why you glased over the fact that she was the district attorney of San srancisco for 7 years, attorney General of California for 6 years, California senator for 4 years. Actually, her great grandmother was black, a slave freed when Jamaica outlawed slavery. Her great-great grandfather, the largest slave owner in Jamaica, owned her. His son, her great grandfather, then married her. So, Kamala is 1/8 Jamaican black, 3/8 white, and 1/2 Indian. She's 3 times more white than black, even her husband is white. She didn't become "black" until it was politically expedient to do so.
