The Michigan Supreme Court overturned a lower court judge who tried to hold state officials responsible for their malicious involvement during the Flint water crisis. Dr. Rashad Richey and Adrienne Lawrence discuss on Indisputable. Tell us what you think in the comments below.

"The Michigan Supreme Court sided with a trio of former state officials charged for their involvement in the Flint drinking water crisis, issuing an opinion Tuesday that a lower court judge erred in using a "one-man grand jury" to issue indictments against the officials last year.

The unanimous opinion, with one justice not participating, calls for the cases against former state officials Nick Lyon, Nancy Peeler and Richard Baird to return to the Genesee Circuit Court for preliminary examinations.

In 2021, Genesee County Circuit Judge David Newblatt charged the group, and six others — including former Gov. Rick Snyder — for their involvement in the Flint water crisis, without a preliminary examination, which allows for cross-examination of witnesses before trial. Appeals to Newblatt's decision were rejected, bringing arguments to the Michigan Supreme Court."

I appreciate Adrienne’s honesty. There is no justice in our system.

Absolutely no justice when the legal system and political system are totally corrupt.

CORRUPTION - CORRUPTION - CORRUPTION — what more can we say? They should have ALL those responsible
forced to drink the same contaminated water the victims drank.

Everyday, more and more corrupt and no consequences. These people deserve no peace if they show their face in public. Courts if you don't care about the law why should we?

It's called the waiting game. It's a pattern. They make noise, disappear, wait until everyone is tired and ready to move on and BAM, pop up with no charges. Same ole' colonizers, same ole' tricks. Never expect anything more.

Haven't seen this story anywhere else which means they're covering it up. I was surprised when they found them guilty in the first place. Normally, they find them innocent from the start. So for them to have been found guilty in the first place means they're actually guilty. Two different systems of justice in this country. 😔😔

And the funny thing is that AmeriKKKa likes to run around, and lecture the world about human rights abuses. Some of them should start pointing out all of theirs, because they'd definitely have plenty of choose from if they did.

From an article I read on this issue...

"We relied upon settled law and the well-established prosecutorial tool of the one-man grand jury, used for decades, to bring forward charges against the nine defendants in the Flint water crisis, ” Hammoud said in a news release Tuesday. “We still believe these charges can and will be proven in court.”

Now, I'm no attorney and I didn't even stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night, but it would seem to me that if this is true, that the 1-man grand jury has been settled law and used for decades in some cases in Michigan, then there are likely a fair number of people serving time in MI jails whom were first indicted by one of these 1-man grand juries. If that's the case I would expect to see motions filed to throw out all of those convictions thanks to the legal precedent the MI SC just set.

The elites will never pay for their crimes. Money rules the justice system. A higher power will take care of these people.
