YouTube just rolled out its latest feature "Related Video" which is supposed to help Shorts viewers find your long form content. But does this new feature actually fix YouTube's Shorts problem and bridge the gap between short form and long videos? Let's test it out and see if Related Video works! I think YouTube is punishing your channel. 150, 000 subscribers and only 500 views? What the heck, your content is great and deserves many more views!

They should highlight it with color or something in order to be able to have it stand out more. I agree that I usually have to strain to read the text on a short. Usually I am just looking to see who posted it.

When I add a related video and save it, and enter the YouTube application, the title or link of the long video linked to the short video does not appear, and when I play the video from the computer, it appears. Does this feature not appear in the YouTube application?

the problem with shorts is that youtube is trying to market to an audience that doesn't think it's cool Youtube is very much a gen-x and millenniial platform and zoomers and alpha see it the way that kids in 2015 saw myspace. it doesn't matter how hard myspace markets and pushes new features, the kids aren't buying it.

I also think there's a coming explosion of AI generated or selected short-form content that is going to absolutely drown out any kind of short form creative content anyway, so focusing on shorts rn is putting one's eggs in the wrong basket. Just my 2 cents.
