Please do not actually try this if you aren’t trained. Fire near a battery is never a good idea.

The green line is usually caused by broken traces in the display - when disrupted you can experience things like green or purple lines. Sometimes pressing on the display or bending it can temporarily fix the issue but it's usually never permanent. The only real solution is to use a laser to recreate the broken traces or to completely replace the screen. If this ever happens to you with a newer phone it should be covered under the 1-2 year manufacturer's warranty. This is one of the drawbacks of OLED displays and can happen completely at random.

The reason why it will work SOMETIMES is due to how the screen was made.
Espevially on the iPhone 11 series screens, the Display flex (orange in color) is exposed at the bottom of the display.
Heating it up can (temporarily) mend broken sauder/connection points.
Laser is more precise, but may not always be permanent.

Trust me guys display evolution reversed when we went from LCD displays to LED..
LCD displays had a life of arround 5-7 years.led dies at max 2-3.
Now some say colour reproduction is way better in led but only i would say noticible one would black levels..properly tuned lcd can produce vary accurate colours as well.
2.Led are efficient over lcd display but that doesnt seems to be much of a difference especially when u compare lifetime.

Plus drawbacks of OLED display are fickering, tints on low brightness and this green line.

I just want to see LCD display back in phones

Its fun when the screen goes full barcode and you have to decipher a way to see it still.

Most of the DIY phone videos show a screen recording where the green line just disappears after a set amount of time.

It will work definitely! Press/push the screen so the loose flex wire connection on screen will re-attach again!

apple quality: Green line appearing for no reason on the screen

It makes sense since it’ll reseat it, if it’s just displaced due to the adhesives hold around the specified area/ near the area holding the pressure which is the edge, maybe, but I do see it making sense

The ultimate fix to this issue is just to set up a lightsaber wallpaper and pretend it was all right

It's because all screens have functioned somewhat similarly on a base level for a loooong time. The first thing I can think of that had vertical line issues was the original dmg-001 gameboy, you just had to tear it down to the screen and use a soldering iron on the display pins. It was just waaaay bigger back then.
