I’m convinced the correct line is - “Where are you going with a Mastiff Hound”, it just makes more sense. Those dogs are used as scent dogs. So they could obviously find a dead body, which would tie in perfectly to the “dogs begin to smell her” line. I think everybody is just wrong about this lyric. It makes more sense than “mask I found”

I’ve heard this song is about a girl from their town who was lost then found dead which explains “when the dogs smell her” but this song still confuses me with lines like “where you going with the mask I found” and it’s just such a mysterious song to me
