What is the Multi-Store Model?
This video explores Atkinson and Shiffrins' (1968) Multi-Store Model that explains how our memory works. We consider the structure of the model, how memories are transferred to each store, and then we explore the coding, capacity and duration of the first store, the sensory register.

Thankyou again for such a wonderful video that I understood and took it all in because of you! I have spoken to you before about me becoming a paramedic so this is the end of my psychology part, but thankyou so much for helping me understand it more than anyone else could and I could not progress to my next step without you! Thankyou so much.xx

doing a presentation and doing an introduction slide -> is this correct

multistore model proposed by Shiffrin and Atkinson in the 1960s, acts as a theoretical model explaining how information moves from your sensory register to your long term memory. The sensory register detects environmental stimuli. If you pay attention to sensory information, then that information can be passed into your short term memory. Atkinson and Shiffrin, state that in order for information to move from your short to long term memory, it requires maintenance rehearsal. If not rehearsed, then the information will be forgotten. Information can then be temporarily retrieved from your long term memory into your short term memory.
