Years of maintaining his innocence paid off for a former California inmate this week who walked free after serving two decades in prison for a crime he didn't commit. Marco Contreras became a free man, when a judge in Southern California ruled him innocent of the 1996 attempted murder of Jose Garcia. The joyful moment was the culmination of years of work by Loyola Law School's Project for the Innocent. #InsideEdition

All those 20 years he has lost coz he was stuck in jail for being innocent?? Ugh! If that was me... I would be soo bloody bitter and angry. The only way I could recovered from this is if I would get $20 million for being innocent. I know that is a lot but imagine the emotional distress and PTSD this man has suffered for 20 years in bar. He could never get those 20 years back.. It's very unfair.

Those "eyewitnesses" that testified that he was the murderer should all be jailed for life

He can now sue the city for wrongful conviction, and for 20 years of his life gone. If he does he is going to be very rich.

There's no amount of money that can be good enough for spending 20 years as a literal slave due to the 13th amendment
