My two cents…30 years of surfing…learn to step up onto the board not “pop up”.
Pull up any pro on youtube, slow down the player and you will see them - typically- plant the back foot then the front foot. You maintain balance, you maintain contact with the board which means you have control. You can slow down the takeoff so it’s smoooove. Slow is smooth - smooth is fast. Or keep “pooping” up, blowing the takeoff and then I’ll scoop up all the waves. 😂👍🏄🏻‍♂️

lol that back foot is still wrong… the back knee needs be pointing more in the direction of where you are going, thats impossible with the back foot being 90 degrees to the board

Nice idea with the tape but no advanced surfer looks at their feet once they pop up.. should be looking at the wave face to read the section ahead of you
