For his new album VITAMIN D, Gajek augments his digital set up with a Casio MIDI guitar and the use of his voice. Tapping into the memory of Eastern Germany in the 90's after the wall came down, Gajek actualizes recollections of an unstable history while boldly stepping into unknown futures. In the video Gajek is a lone figure captured with a trail camera in blunt black and white, while singing on his balcony and moving through trash and strange objects on the nightly streets of Berlin. In bleak yet tender shots the clip evokes an atmosphere of surreal beauty and a subtle sense of threat. Between rund-down urban sites and memories of a turbulent past Gajek's music channels urgent energy and radical playfulness that claims the possibility of change.
