This happened to me as well. Handed my card, got notification on my bank app I just paid like £400. Immediately I told the waiter to put my money back as a refund. Made a scene as I recognised what was happening. I called the police straight away and told them I would be calling the British embassy as I was being threatened with financial harm and emotional harm. Made a huge scene. Ended up with manager coming and giving me my money back as cash. Moral of story, don’t fall for this scam folks if you do please stand up for yourself.

Stay safe man, my advice is to stay in modern parts of Amman so they can't reach you and there is police there, even though most likely they will do nothing and it's an empty threat, it's always good to be careful, and of course try filing a report.

Hahaha update .. first tinder date I make the girl told me she is a lab doctor here visiting her aunt with her mother .. she never meet western man before .. she is nervous .. we make arrangements to meet at Gate 2 .. she was across the street ..just like this woman .. then she walk me directly to this place lol .. Always choose the place and dont wait her to take you straight away for her places, most probably she is going to scam you, it happens in Ukraine as a foreigner when you date ladies online, choose the place by your self!

this kind of scam is very popular. i met some girls in moscow and saint petersburg but the moment i entered some bar or cafe, i realised that it is a scam and that's why never been scammed hahaha

Haha. In China I was invited to a tea ceremony. I only ended up paying 50€ for three sorts of tea, despite them wanting to share the costs of the whole thing with me. But I told them they invited me so I'll just take the tea. I liked the tea a lot and it was a good gift. I didn't think of it as a scam after only a telling my friends about it later.

Never agree to go to places they tell you. Do your research and take them to bars that you choose. Its that simple
