It sounds like they wanted Annie to be similar to Wolf from Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, another Netflix original series from about three years ago. Except Wolf is actually a great character.

I'll admit that I did enjoy the show, but that was mainly for the monsters. The human characters were terrible and I generally just ignored them. I also hated Annie and skipped through this episode because I didn't care about her backstory.

In defence of annie and dog let me explain in the intro annie sees her dad die killing dog's with a gun so they both know what guns can do and what they're used for to kill and in camp cretaceous it only took a month for ben to become a wild child with bumpy so considering that annie was six when she was marooned things could've went alot worse

I hope that if there's more episodes, they do a sort of humbling arc for Annie. Having her loose the worst parts of her arrogance in favor of character growth. I would've hoped that being on Skull Island would've done that(since on her island she abd dog are the Alphas, but here they're barley noticable compared to creatures like Kong) but she doesn't get humbled. Her cockiness doesn't punisher in a way that makes her rethink her actions. If Annie doesn't improve in that regard, it's gonna be harder to root for her.

Overall, I see the series as mid. Not so bad I can't enjoy it, but not my absolute favorite.

I get what they were trying to do with the reveal with Annie but it felt a little botched but I don't think it takes too much away from the reveal or the flashbacks

Correct Omni. Self-absorbed is not likeable or compelling, that is evil. I'm actually really astounded many think that's a likeable trait in someone or character to root for in a story. Narcissistic is a sinful quality not a good aspect. I finished the series today, I can tell you it doesn't get any better. This is the worst entry in the monsterverse.

Family has been a thematic motif in the MonsterVerse films, but I think this show broke that motif. When you look at Ford Brody and Madison Russell, they did not disrespect their parents neither were they self-absorbed.

You know what the worst part is? They made a strong female character the right way and it is the Island Girl in the next episode. I call her Fryda because that’s the name of her va. Not gonna to spoil anything but I am 99% percent certain that you will like her or at least more than Annie. By the way who is worse Hauro from the polygon trilogy or Annie?

I had deep reflection I think I liked it for the fact I was laughing at Annie even though shes jerk because I kept seeing her as inoske but, written poorly. I will say I didn't like ending of show all I'll say

I do think Netflix is skull Island is alright but isn't good is what I have to say about the show but it does make me think why does it seem like there's a curse on Kaiju animation film😢

This series just doesn’t feel like it’s part of the MV, it feels like an early 2000s cartoon with obnoxious characters, cringe humor, bland creature designs, and loads of inconsistencies. I had a feeling this would disappoint on a level that I feel even some hardcore MV fans can agree on. Now I don’t agree with Omni Viewer’s advocacy and defense about the MV, but I can certainly understand why he feels the way he feels, and after watching this series, I do agree that this series is trying too hard, and just ends up falling flat on its face. But still, one bad entry isn’t gonna mean the rest is bad, and hopefully the Apple TV+ series, and GXK are much better than this.
