Oat milk is also easy to make yourself, and costs practically nothing to make.

It's really true. There are so many PB milks that are amazing, all much better than cruelty-based milk. I've tried Almond, Oat, Cashew, Coconut, Soy, Flax...and combinations of these, and they are all much lower in calories, some just as high in protein and many slightly sweetened with vanilla. Also, all fortified w/ calcium, just like cruelty-based milk. Bonus: no cow-pus, no antibiotics and no hormones.

So far I found Oatly oat milk tasting the best, however, I will be periodically re-tasting other milk/brands. Also, Pacific Soy Ultra, similar to Alpro Soy, very tasty; can be drunk by itself. Hemp milk very creamy but it takes a few tries to get used to the little unusual flavor. I found almond, coconut, macadamia kinds of milk watery-not for me. Oatly oat milk and West Soy soy milk best for dairyless, homemade yogurt and kefir. Oatly Barista best for kefir and yogurt.

The adaptation to dairy is a wonderful thing that has happened to humans, it allowed an increase in caloric and nutrient consumption with little effort

Hazelnut milk is one of my faves (in the UK Morrisons own brand is great). It makes a hot cocoa super yummy and on any vegan chocolate cereal it's heaven😍😍

Hemp milk sounds very ecological. I tried it a while ago and I did enjoy the taste. I’m interested to see if it would work in coffee in place of milk or cream.
The only thing I find objectionable about plant milk is additives, including vitamins and minerals. I search for and buy brands that do not contain them.
