The Blasted Ceres Series! Part 11: Sporb Production Line (ONI: Spaced Out!)

This VOD is the 11th part of my Blasted Ceres playthrough on the new Frosty Planet Pack DLC for Oxygen Not Included, where the main planet is split into two halves with Space in the middle! In this episode, we set up a quick Sporechid room so that we can gain access to the Sporbs! These little guys will go around and hopefully do some menial tasks so that the duplicants can focus their efforts on more challenging tasks like the upcoming Magma Volcano tamer. Unfortunately it turns out that Sporechids wilt at less than -15° C... so we will need to Tepidise them a little bit! There are probably some more tweaks to make and we need to acquire more Sporechids but the basic principle is there. Cycles 324-349 are in this video. Apologies, mic was set a little quiet today!

This DLC adds a new starting asteroid type to both Classic and Spaced Out styles with a range of new very cold biomes with new plants, critters, and materials to explore and exploit. Aims for this run are to figure out how to most efficiently use all of the DLC content and start exploring space and the later game stuff again.

I think it doesn't matter much for a playthrough (there's both plenty of mercury and a finite amount so you'll want to transition out eventually anyway) but (according to another video I saw) if you limit the flow rate to 65g/s after the lights are at full power you can get twice the power for your mercury. This works by exploiting the ramp up/down mechanics. I haven't seen anyone try this with only 50% power to the lamps so no comment there. I think it's pretty unnecessary but is the kind of thing I'd like to have included in an info video.

Use mercury to make generator tuning microchip can get more power yield.
A microchip cost 5000g mercury, last at less 1800s(+2.5% every Machinery levels ).
If apply to HydrogenGenerator it will turn to 1800s * 400w = 720, 000Watts(maximum)
If apply to petroleumGenerator it will turn to 1800s * 1000w = 1, 800, 000Watts(maximum)

If use that 5000g mercury for 2 mercury lights-SolarPanel combo.
It consume 130g*2/s mercury to generate 260w/s
5000g /(130*2) * 260w = 5000 Watts only.
And microchips will no longer melt:)
