Skyrim launcher crashes

SOLUTION (2): Patch 1.3 seems to have fixed this. I got this error yet another time 06th dec, but after installing patch it worked fine.

SOLUTION (1): Reinstalling the game worked for me.

ANSWER FROM BETHESDA VIA SUPPORT:

1. Right click on the game in the Steam library and select Properties
2. Navigate to Local Files tab
3. Click "Verify integrity of game cache"
You may also need to exit and then relaunch Steam.

If this fails to solve your issue, we recommend a clean re-installation of the game. Your saved game files will not be lost. Please let us know if we can further assist you.

Guys i found the problem 1.go to your computer 2.go to local disk (C:) 3.go to program files (x86) 4.go to bethesda softworks or skyrim the elder scroll 5.instead of opening the skyrim launcher open TESV.exe then it will start the game Hope this works :)

Having same problem and re-installation seems to be the only solution....which sucks cause this is the second time I've encountered this problem and had to re install.

I just bought the game and this looping problem just came up and I've tried literally everything. I restarted my PC, reinstalled Skyrim, verified the files, ran Steam and TESV.exe with admin, downloaded this service pack thing and I tried them in every order but it still loops and I've checked just about every forum thread there is to this topic in the past 6 hours and it's now 4am and I'm going ape shit. Why hasn't Bethesda fixed this yet? It's been more than a year to my knowledge.

Sorry, I don't know what is wrong, I can just suggest your further approach. 1. Have you tried Bethesda/SkyRim official support? 2. Install latest updates for your Windows, including DirectX. and your graphich card as well. 3. Consider reformatting your hard drive, though this probably won't help.

I unfortunaly do not know anything about that specific issue. What I would do is 1. trying the "Verify integrity of game cache" functionality in Steam (see descirption), and if that doesn't work, uninstall and install.

I made a backup of my savegames to be on the safe side, then I used Steam to uninstall and install (I don't have any CD).

I don't have a solution other than what you can find in the description of this video, so I can only comment: I got the game through Steam, and though I see other people are referring to this TESV.exe file, I recall that I've never had that file in my any of my directories (the game is uninstalled now, so I cannot check though.) In any case, updating the game was the key for me. Sorry to hear it doesn't work for you.

what sould I do when the launcher just close and come up again when I press "Play"?

For some reason it isn't working again. Now on steam when I click the play button the launcher won't load. And it seems as if the launcher is just cancelling itself because it looks like it automatically cancels. I mean that when its says "preparing to launch The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" Can you help me do this. Nothing on Steam support is helping me.

It's alright, I fixed it. Turns out NOD32 kept deleting one of the main folders without my permission.
