How to Stop Skyrim from Crashing to Desktop!!! 2/26/12

After going through an emotional thrillride think I had lost my save for the second time, I managed to find a way to fix what I thought was corrupted files but it was just the shell of leftover mods.

Thigns you may say if this has happended to you:
My Skyrim keeps crashing to desktop
My save games are corrupted
Skyrim won't let me load my game
Skyrim keeps crashing
Skyrim crashes once game loads
Skyrim crashes on loading screen

I'm having so many problems with Skyrim that I have given up on even trying to play it. The creation kit barely works and only if you know several work-arounds. The creation kit is free however, they advertise it with the game launch and is the reason I repurchased it for PC. The creation kit has way more bugs then the actual game, and you can see why mods from well intending people are fucking up other peoples games.

if he just installed the game, data files in launcher are there by default, so if he's saying that he "can't even click" on it, and don't say anything more, it means, that he don't even know what prefs.ini is.

its because you downloaded the mods from a place other than the steam workshop, such as the skyrim nexus

none of them say yes or no, its just blank under subscribed is that a problem? (my skyrim works perfect exept randomly it will close to desktop with no warning or error)

I haven't downloaded any mods yet, (and I have bought the game on steam) but it doesn't have anything to check and my game still crashes.

Okay, thats nice and all, but my skyrim is ctd'ing even though all my mods are turned off.

Originally i thought it was a mod doing it, but once i turned them off and it still did it, i figured it must be something else.
It doesn't load the menu up.
No mods are on.
It ctd's even with the beta 1.7 patch

Solve that. Go.

I tried this and it didnt work! all the boxes that say yes are checked and the "no" ones are not checked.? plz help!

I have no mods and i keep crashing....

didn't help me at all. i was only able to play skyrim for 2 months. now it crashes every 2 minutes on both of my computers
