Why Patience is Power | Priceless Benefits of Being Patient

Not only is impatience unpleasant, but it’s also pointless. Impatience is the unwillingness to live life at the pace it actually happens; we wish for the universe to bend to our will. We want things now. We want things to change in an instant. But in reality, external circumstances are not up to us: no matter how much we wish that to be the case. Patience, the opposite virtue, is based on the acceptance of what is.

"Impatience is the unwillingness to live life at the pace that it actually happens." Wow, great quote!

I always tell people
"do it the slow way, it's faster"
then get confused expressions...

The more patient I am, the faster I get the things I want. Things always take longer when I'm impatient.

When the plane is delayed, when my work doesn't immediately bear fruit, when I'm stuck in traffic late for a meeting, I become aware of the knot growing in my gut, and I release that rising tension by taking three deep breathes and laughing at my own expectation that the world should bend to MY convenience ("It figures. Haha!"). Especially when I remember that so many others have been also waiting for valuable opportunities I recognized and accepted very long ago. I count my blessings and say to myself, "Everything is exactly the way it's supposed to be. It can't be otherwise. If only I could get young folk to recognize THIER opportunities." I also recognize this is the benefit of age and having achieved half of my goals. I can AFFORD to be more patient than a young person. But a young person could do so much MORE to motivate their age!

As we get older we become more patient. As we run out of time we slow down because we learned that impatience doesn't work. It doesn't make anything happen any faster.

In todays world we are used to get gratified quickly, we are addicted to mobile phones, we watch yt, we switch cannels if we don't like something, we discard people easily, we are just spoiled brats and todays society encourage this kind of lifestyle; but this can go on only until one point, life will not spare me or you. To learn patience is a great thing, a great gift that one can give themselves, and others too. It is very hard thing to do. Many people notice that I am patient, but really I am very impatient inside, I guess I look patient. I wish to become more serene. Thank you for your video.

I took an art class at a community college several years ago. There was one student from whom I learned so much. We would both stay after class to work on our projects. He would patiently sit with his materials until the understanding of what he would do with them came to his mind. Sometimes he would sit for hours in patient silence. His 3-D creations were always my favorite.

Man, without your videos I probably would have died a long time ago. Thank you so much for these gems! ❤️

"Time is the greatest vengeance." someone once told me when a couple of people wronged me and I wanted revenge. That same person said to me. "Do nothing. Just sit and wait patiently. Time will bring your revenge. Just wait". Turns out that two years later, he was right. Probably not what Budda had in mind being him against revenge and negative feelings but karma trully is a thing

When you do nothing you don't distrub anything and everything becomes clearer and calmer. So just sit still and watch what happens. Watch what ever comes up even thoughts and feelings and don't interact with it in anyway.

Patience is bitter but it's results are sweet.

When I get impatient I remind myself that life has no meaning or purpose so there isn't anything to rush to, I can fulfill my life purpose with just being miserable where I am now.

I used to rush to work (speed). I was always angry while doing so, cussing out other drivers as well as stop lights...these things thwarted me from getting to work, doncha know? I'd be stressed and in a bad mood when I got to work, thinking the worse of co workers, and continuing the impatience. Needless to say, I wasn't happy.

Then I started practicing mindfulness and decided to drive that way. Wow, what a difference! I go no more than a couple miles above the speed limit, stop lights are now opportunities to breathe...and what I found is I got to work in about the same amount of time, but no stress, no anger.

I'm still working on being more patient, but the experiences I've had with it show me that while it can be difficult cultivating this, the effort really does pay off.

As a person groomed to be impatient, this resonates with me. Thank you. Your videos are always top notch.

Patience is powerful. It can help us persevere, reduce stress, and overcome challenges. Patience may be a virtue, but it's something I often find challenging.

Having patience is so important. And yet, difficult to achieve at times.

I spent the first half of 2022 rushing everything trying to find peace. I started forcing myself to sit still and watch what's happening around me. I've never felt more peaceful, I feel like I'm where I need to be, I've never felt that before. I feel free

When I was a teenager at a boarding school of the Salesians in Portugal, every morning we had this gathering with some reading and chanting from a little book.

In that book there was a story like this of Buda. An impatient man was told to watch the bottom of a well right after the wise man have collected a bucket of water. "I see nothing!", says the impatient man. "Now wait. Watch again.", says the wise man; "Now I can see myself mirrored in the water!".

I keep this story with me since I was 10.
