Veteran here. The segment on Gov. Walz was horrible. You’re talking about what his motivation for retirement might have been and refuse to speak on the fact that he had been talking to his troops about retiring to run for Congress. Sounds like motive to me. Jan./Feb. 2005 he completed his application for Congress. It makes sense that not every troop would know the details surrounding a Command Sergeant Major’s decision making. Let’s also not forget he re-enlists after 9-11, served 4 year more than 20. Was 41 yrs old and had already been medical boarded for his hearing problems caused by his service in artillery.

I am furious. As the spouse of a 20 yr Army and Air Force retiree with active and reserve duty that never served thankfully in a combat zone I can assure you Walz and his family sacrificed way more over the 24 years he served with the Army Guard than Corporal Vance ever did in his air conditioned press office wherever he served. How dare a corporal w 4 years condemn the service of a command master sergeant who served 24 years and had severe hearing loss because of it, and didn’t have to serve any after 20 if he wanted retirement benefits. On top of it he was running for congress and won without billionaire Silicon Valley backers like Vance got. Walz also helped numerous veterans with his work for 12 years on veterans committees in congress. Both Trump and Vance are absolutely disgraceful to military members, retirees, gold star families, military spouses and especially disabled vets.

Veteran here. Let’s talk about this rank. He has authority to use the rank CSM. The reduction in rank is for benefit purposes only just like his records reflect. The Army has already said that he has the right to use the rank, CSM. It is not uncommon to have one rank you wear at the time of retirement, but have a lower rank that is used to calculate your benefits because you weren’t in the rank long enough to meet certain requirements. This is NORMAL and the attack is weird for people who know. Listening to non-vets try to speak to this is painful.
