In this video, I seek to compare the sound differences of 3 Meinl ride cymbals and an Istanbul Agop ride cymbal.

I hope this helps anyone thinking about purchasing one of these models to make an informed choice that best suiting their musical needs.

Left to right, they are:
1. MEINL Byzance 20" Extra Dry Medium Ride
2. MEINL Byzance 20" Vintage Sand Ride
3. ISTANBUL AGOP 20" Special Edition Jazz Ride
4. MEINL Byzance 21" Jazz Nuance Ride

High Hats used are:
MEINL Byzance 14" Extra Dry Medium (with an internal dampening cloth placed on the bottom hi hat)

Thought the agop was the best for jazz (guess the name is appropriate) while I thought the sand ride was the best all around ride.

Love that Meinl 20" Extra Dry Medium ride..great stick definition and just enough 'wash' without getting away with fast stick patterns. I have a Meinl Byzance 'Vintage Pure' 22" light ride which has similar sonic characteristics but to my ears is even 'dryer' but still a very versatile ride cymbal. Second favorite in this group is the Meinl Sand Ride.
