George Orwell's "Animal Farm" is a classic political sattire about a group of animals leading a rebellion to take over their farm.

Its a commentary on power and corruption and manipulation. I personally thought it was a brilliant read and I highly recommend it to those of you who have not read it yet.

I hope you enjoy my review of George Orwell's "Animal Farm".

I feel so sad for Boxer. He was so loyal and hard working but all he got in-return is send to slaughter house and exchanged for a box of liquor. Sad that he was so naive. I wish we got a better ending but good ending never happens in story like this I guess. There will always be another greedy leader

I read this book recently and the message is very clear and alarming. It summarises the politics of under developed countries.Humans should know what their rights are and also fight to get their rights and avoid being exploited.

It’s a ideology of sorts. It’s really something to see and hear while we ourselves are going through the same thing in a real life deal here.

Its based on the ideals that lead to the Russian Revolution and the war being won by Trotsky (Snowball)the totalitarian dictatorship that grows under Stalin (Napoleon), the first rebellion is the purges Stalin led whilst the attack on the farm is a take of the German invasion. The book is full of parodies on this event but its a general attack on all totalitarian dictatorships, Orwell was himself a Democratic Socialist who fought in the International Brigades against Franco and the Fascists during the Spanish Civil War eventually being shot thru the throat so he saw and opposed all repressive regimes that tried to stop free speech, fairness and equality and democracy. Some countries banned this book and in the West right-wingers in some parts of America and one part of Australia censored this book, their act only exemplified why freedom loving supporters of democracy need to oppose this kind of mindset. Batista was the leader of Cuba before Castro and he was great if you were well off, in the military or the Mafia but not so great if you were poor. Not all Cuban exiles in America were part of the Batista regime but most of the rich powerful ones were, Castro was no saint and there is a lot to criticize but considering the US sanctions on the island the Cuban health system is better for its people than the US one which is only as good as to how wealthy you are, the Cuban education system is also great. The irony is Castro would have likely fallen decades ago if it wasn't for the sanctions. People tend to resist pressure from other countries not give in.

completely wrong review... each animal was a symbol and he used allegory to make complex issues more accessible the same technique is used in children books because he wanted to alert the masses.
