Before you get too excited, this is a Mobile and PC MMO that has gacha mechanics. This will play nothing like the previous games and is designed to get you to engage in a literal real money slot machine to progress faster. The fact that none of this is made clear in this trailer says a lot about this project.

I hope it still has the constant animation cutscenes like how it did in the 1st Ni no Kuni. Made it really feel like a Ghibli movie and all the more interesting! Can't wait!

I played this in Chinese when I was in Taiwan for a few months last year! The game style is quite different from the other Ni no Kuni games because this was designed as a mobile game. The art style is still beautiful, and you get a good amount of customization for your character (although you can only pick from those few in the trailer - each has a set weapon type). You have guild system (Kingdom), daily quests, main storyline quests, events, world boss, etc. It took some time to get used to the mechanisms (auto play especially). I was bummed I couldn't really play it after I came back to the US as switching between App Store was difficult to do often (to get updates). I was able to play on iPhone X, it did get warm but not as bad as Genshin Impact.

I’m really excited! But, I can’t help feeling a little melancholy about this. It looks so different from the 2nd game, which was already so radically different from the first.

So from what I remember, this game originated as a mobile MMO a couple (?) of years ago in Japan. There was concern about whether or not it'd get a localization, then Level 5 shut down its NA division, leaving the fate of this game up in the air, though I remember reading somewhere around that time that Level 5 was still planning to bring this game over despite the shutdown. I think the game also has an English language translation already built into the Japanese client, furthering rumors of a localization.

Anyways, it combined elements from both the other Ni No Kuni games (multiple races, familiars and higgledies exist), but I don't know how the story goes. I'm hoping this trailer indicates that they plan to release the game multi-platform like Genshin Impact and Honkai Impact did, 'cause I certainly don't own a phone capable of handling this...

Played Ni No Kuni 1 and 2 and loved them both, however, I never got anywhere close to finishing either game. This new game looks amazing. Looking forward to it.

Those who are interested beware it's a gacha mmo game and from what I've seen it's very heavy on it. It's good in some parts but falls very flat on others.
The games been out for some time in China and Japan if I'm not mistaken. So do go check it out if it's for you but I do recommend ni no kuni 2 if you're itching to play something akin to this.

I've played the Korean Version. It is a gacha game, and it also have auto battle and auto pathing. The PC version is just a laggy Mobile port. The classes are character-locked, with little Character appearance customization.
But it's still worth playing, the artsyle is cute and pretty, can't say much about the Story though since the text was in Korean. Also, mounts and pets!

Taiwan player here . I have been playing around 1 year at Taiwan server and I don’t recommend people to waste their time on Cross world if they wanted to try new MMO game . They said it’s from Level 5 but Netmarble is the one that control and fix the game when it’s time to maintenance the server each week . There’s a lot of bug that they can’t seem to fix it.

Beside that, they keep selling a lot of stuff and gacha to players . It’s a pay to win game so get prepared of your credit card if you want to get super strong in this game . Sometimes money isn’t enough to get you stronger in the game, you will need to grind a lot of stuff. The most important thing is this game has auto key, if you didn’t mind it and you love to grind everyday then you can try and see the outcome . It’s very hard to get stronger if you doesn’t top up and you have no clue how much money you will need to spend in this game in order to get stronger in your character. Recommend people to choose witch instead of anybody .

Edit: Just started with the second game. How the hell did I not start earlier. It is basically Ghibli Studios but as a game, it already started so shockingly well. A Nuke or Hydrogen Bomb, a President becoming a main anime character Isekai style. Wow!
